Day 13: Weekend of Women Great body Exotic Sexy Can dance really well Intelligent Likes my sense of humor 5 chicks? I was $hitting bricks when I listened to this last Friday (three days ago). Alright, out and about near Union Square, solo, on the phone with the two friends I have who I can talk to straight about this, looking for support. I haven't even done anything yet and I am a nervous wreck. I used to have balls, I swear. There are chicks everywhere, seems like they're all in pairs though. Alright I spot a petite young Asian, really cute, I'm across the street from here walking the same direction, I cross, almost get hit by a car, make it to the other side, I look to find her, she has crossed the same goddamn street and doubled back in the other direction to where I just was. Now I'm behind a dumpster in front of a store, taking comfort with my large iced coffee from sbux (btw, why is having a drink in your hand, be it a beer, cocktail or cup of coffee during the day, make this so much easier?), and F U Sean, i'm not following this asian chick anymore. Keep walking down, I know what I have to do now. I spot a trio of chicks in their 30's, all very hot and tall and slender, and speaking French. Two of them go in the store, 1 stays outside to smoke. I approach, "Par le bou francais?" she says "oi oi" and smiles. I say, "i don't speak french, that's actually the only thing I know how to say. I was just walking to the mall and, well, I just wanted to say I think you are really, really cute, and I just had to let you know." She had a big smile, then she flashed this enormous rock on her hand, and so I went on my way. My heart feels like I just sprinted a mile, but now I got my cajones back. I proceed directly into the coffee stand inside the mall, there's two cute girls sitting down who I can tell are looking at me, sounded like they were speaking Spanish, I make a note and rehearse some Spanish in my head. I throw away my large, now empty iced coffee and circle to the back to the guy to order a latte. He tells me to go pay at the cashier, so I circle all the way back again, pay, then the guy waves me back to pick up the latte, I'm basically doing laps at this point around the coffee stand and these chicks are laughing at me. I go back to where they're sitting and say "vosotras son latinas?". They look at me with mixed looks, and by "mixed looks" I mean "blank stares". I repeat, "vosotras son latinas? estabais hablando espanol no?". Same result, I say, 'I'm sorry, were you guys speaking Spanish a minute ago?". Turns out they were speaking Farsi and they're some hot Persians. I end up sitting down with the two of them, make chit-chat, they're from out of town, but out clubbing in the city tonight. We make arrangements to meet at a certain club and I get one of their numbers. Now I get up and am walking to leave the mall, I have a date at a wine bar with a decently cute Bulgarian chick who I met a month ago, and who, as it turns out, works in my building. So I have that on my mind, plus I'm thinking that these two chicks are probably watching me leave, when I see just a mesmerizingly beautiful girl with her friends walking toward me. She is all smiles and we're making eye contact, I walk by and say 'hey', and she says 'hey' back with a big smile, but I have those other thoughts in the back of my mind, which I will later come to regret. I cab back home to get ready for this date, and man, I can't stop smiling, I'm fucking holding back tears because I haven't felt this alive and this happy in a long, long time. I call up my roommate and one of my best friends, he's naturally more confident and extroverted than I am, not too far ahead of where I want to be, but part of my motivation for doing this, for better or for worse, is we each will have our streaks, but my streak ended last October (after a 1 month hiatus that i've written off), and his has been going strong since the holidays. And he's been on a tear, to the point its actually wearing on me that I can't reciprocate the experiences when we're hanging out. So I tell him to be ready to go to this club to meet these chicks that I just met at the mall at 9:30, and he's stoked. Date goes very well, chick is cute, but not quite cute enough to genuinely want to date unfortunately. I don't know, still figuring that one out (was only 2 days ago). Proceed back to bachelor pad and race off to this high-end bar and.....the chicks DO NOT F%$#@*^& SHOW UP. I cannot describe with words how embarrassing this is for me that I brought my roommate to meet these goddamn flakes. I text twice over an hour period, get a response back half an hour after that they had to wait for their friend from out of town. Whatever. One thing though, is that they had plans to go to this dance club later in the night, and as we meet people at the venue we're at, we hear this same name thrown around a few times. So we say, f&*@ it, lets go. Only we have no idea where it is, and the first cab takes us to some bar with the same name deep in the ghetto (the Tenderloin, if any of you are from SF). We get another cab, go to the right area...and then go in the wrong club, that is even more ghetto than the previous spot, to the point they won't give us beers in a glass bottle because we might break it in half and shank someone. We leave, its now 12:50 at least, and we see the place right down the street. Proceed to pay another steep cover...and then have a great friggin night. I don't know what it was, but some chick just came over with her friend and told me she recognized me from the bus, which was a complete lie, cause I would have recognized this girl (she was really, really cute), and then we danced and hung out all night, and my roommate played a perfect wing and took care of this other, quite a bit less attractive friend of hers. I did try to kiss her once, we were dancing really close for a while and I just cupped her chin with my hand, moved in and kissed her cheek because she wasn't going to have it, but we both knew what I was going for. Immediately after I said, "I want to take you out on a date", and she said "Ok" in that sweet, vulnerable voice that women have sometimes when they're with a guy. So we hung out for another 45 minutes and then took a cab back with her and her friend (my roommate had finally left some time before). Made them laugh a bit in the cab, got out at the same stop as her as she lived only about two blocks from me. Told her I really had a great time with her, she said "me too", i got her number and email, she gave me a hug and then we parted. Sent her a text (listened to Perfect Text Game a little while back, actually could use a refreshed link as its expired) saying "hey ___, sweet dreams, cutie". So this girl is about 5 years older than me, i've never been successful with that, for whatever reason, I look way older than I am, so I do well sometimes when I first meet these girls because of that. I told her she was just a little bit younger than me, in such a way that she knows she has a few years on me. Sent her what I thought was a short and pretty funny email this morning, asking her to lunch later this week. No response today. She said she was not good at checking emails, I live and breathe emails, who's kidding, I live in my office and get $hit for cell phone reception. So if she doesn't respond tomorrow, I think I'll drop her a text tomorrow night to the tune of "hey ___, been pretty busy so far this week, but would be fun to meet up for lunch later this week.
